Help with Gmail authentication and common issues
VSRecruit Ai uses your personal Gmail account to send emails on your behalf. This ensures maximum deliverability and authenticity when pitching to coaches and brands.
How to Connect Gmail
- Go to the Integrations page
- Click Connect Gmail button
- Sign in with your Google account
- Grant permissions for email sending and drafts
- You'll be redirected back to the app automatically
gmail.send
Allows the app to send emails from your Gmail account when you click "Send Pitch"
gmail.compose
Allows creation and management of email drafts for scheduled campaigns
userinfo.email
Verifies which Gmail address is connected to your account
Privacy Note: We never read your existing emails or access your inbox. We only send emails when you explicitly click "Send" in the app.
❌ "Unauthorized" or "Not Connected" Error
Your Gmail connection may have expired or not completed properly.
Solution:
- Go to Integrations page
- Click "Connect Gmail" again
- Make sure you complete the full OAuth flow
- Check that pop-ups are not blocked in your browser
❌ "Access Denied" or "Insufficient Permissions"
You may have declined some required permissions during setup.
Solution:
- Disconnect and reconnect Gmail
- When prompted, click "Allow" for all permissions
- Check your Google account security settings
- Ensure "Less secure app access" is not blocking the connection
❌ Emails Not Sending
Emails may fail to send due to Gmail's daily sending limits or connection issues.
Solution:
- Check your Gmail connection status on Integrations page
- Gmail free accounts have a limit of ~500 emails/day
- Wait 24 hours if you've hit the limit
- Verify the recipient email address is correct
❌ "This App Hasn't Been Verified by Google"
Google shows a warning for apps that haven't completed full verification (normal for new apps).
Solution:
- Click "Advanced" on the warning screen
- Then click "Go to VSRecruit Ai (unsafe)"
- This is safe - it's just Google's standard warning for unverified apps
- We are working on full Google verification
Disconnect from Google:
- Go to Google Account Permissions
- Find "VSRecruit Ai" in the list
- Click "Remove Access"
Reconnect Gmail:
After disconnecting, simply go to the Integrations page and click "Connect Gmail" again to re-authorize.
